Back in 1976 some guys cooked up a publicity stunt involving a guy dressed up as the Amazing Human Fly standing on top of an airplane. Sure, wing walkers have been around since the days of the bi-plane, but these guys did it with a 4-engine DC-8 jet airliner.
AvWeb.com got the story behind the stunt and produced this video with interviews and old footage.
As fun as it looks, I think I’ll stay in the cockpit. 🙂
Another great opportunity to cite George Carlin… “I’m getting IN the plane! Let Evel Knievel get ON the plane”
George was the best!
Thanks for reading.

This is great but my most favorite stunts are the early wing walkers and Lawn Chair Larry.
